Rev. Nader Awad | Transitional Pastor- Pastor Nader was born in a Christian family and grew up in Egypt. He came to a saving knowledge of Christ as a teenager and sensed a call into serving Christ as an evangelist and minister of the gospel. He enrolled in Seminary and was ordained as a Presbyterian minister in June of 1990. In 1991 he moved to Montreal, Canada where he was involved in church planting and pursuit of further academic studies earning a STM and a MA in Historical Theology from McGill University. In 2001 he moved to Ontario, Canada and served different churches in the Toronto area and completed a MA degree in Canadian Immigration history at York University. Since 2008 Nader has served as a Transitional Pastor/Evangelist in several presbyterian churches in the United States, in Western NY and currently serves as our Transitional Pastor for New Covenant Church.
Sherrie Vera | Director of Children’s Ministry - Born and raised in Miami, Sherrie is married to her husband Miguel, has two children, Michael and Jose, two granddaughters and a grandson. Sherrie has had different careers, but working with children is the greatest job she’s ever had. Coming to New Covenant has allowed her to experience real family for the first time. She says, “When you can come to a place and hug someone and feel genuine love, that’s family. When you can look into these kids' faces and see the love of Jesus, you know your home!!” Sherrie has a heart for teaching the gospel to children and helping them grow in their faith.
Cindy Sherman | Director of Reach Ministries - Cindy has been working in South Florida as a Social Worker for many years. Her social services knowledge comes from working with a diverse population that includes child welfare, disabled, homeless, substance abuse and the elderly. Her passion is caring for those in need, protecting the vulnerable and maintaining the dignity of those who have lost hope. Cindy's desire is not only to meet the tangible need but to bring hope to the dejected and share the Author of Hope with those who are lost. In her spare time she loves to spend time with her family, especially her 3 grandchildren who keep her young.
Jason Milos | Director of Student Ministry - Jason grew up in Portland, Oregon, and eventually moved to Minnesota where he had his first experience with the Presbyterian church. After being a member at the church and helping with Sunday School and various activities, another life change brought the move to Florida. From the time Jason and his family walked into New Covenant Church, they knew they had found a church to call "home". Jason has 3 wonderfully spirited children and has found a passion in working with youth. On Saturdays you can find him at the YMCA coaching youth sports. He also enjoys running and fishing and loves spending time with his children outdoors.
