The physical proof of the resurrection began to unfold before the disciples' eyes when they saw the stone rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw that it was empty except for a young man in a white robe sitting on a stone bench. He seemed so calm as he spoke to the disciples to tell them that, "The Jesus who you seek was crucified, and is now risen from the dead." Faith in the resurrection must take over where physical facts leave off. We must take a big leap of faith to believe in the resurrection. Neither empirical facts nor intuitive knowledge can verify such truths as this. His Word is our basis for belief. "He is risen!" is all that God needs to say.
What is your basis for believing in the resurrection of Jesus? For Thomas, his unbelief was a stumbling block. Jesus said to stop doubting and believe. Jesus may not visibly or physically meet you as He did His disciples, but His word to you is golden. You can take it to the bank. He is risen, He is risen indeed!
