Restoration & Renewal

This winter we are in a new sermon series called Renewal and Restoration, and I would like to challenge all of us to get into a season of being renewed to the joy and celebration of being a child of God. Life is so challenging and demanding that we lose our way from the joy and peace that should follow us. I believe this is a year of optimism, one in which we should look forward to more celebration of the blessings and victories God has given us. As I have said many times throughout the year, we should be the happiest of people, redeemed, set free of our fears and letting go of the regrets from yesterday.

To be renewed is to apply these thoughts to our relationships with each other and our walk with God as he opens up the paths ahead of us. Recently, I preached a sermon and said we must be careful of the twin towers that sap the life out of us. One is the regret for yesterday, and the other is the fear of tomorrow. Psalm 118:24 says, "this is the day that the Lord has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it." Oh to live the word every day! That will bring Restoration and Renewal to our minds and hearts! Let everything that has breath Praise the Lord. This is a fitting lifestyle, and a way of expecting God to move in our lives while also moving us out in our convictions where God is already at work. Remember, faith always requires action.

I trust this series will strengthen your understanding of what the perfect will of God is for your life. Remember the battle is not yours, but God's. (2 Chronicles 20:1-17)
