Grace is an amazing gift of God. Grace allows us to get in touch with ourselves when we cannot see things as they are, but as we are. The apostle Paul thought he saw clearly in his persecuting of Christians; however, by grace, God allowed him to see differently. Grace allows us to see others. Grace opens our eyes that we might turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God. Finally, grace allows us to act, to succeed despite our struggles and lack of resources. Grace allows us to walk out of darkness, that through repentance and turning to God, we now can proclaim what the prophets and Moses said would come, "That the Christ would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles" (Acts 26:23). Only by the grace of God will the Gospel makes sense to those who are fortunate enough to be blessed by it.
